Rick Grimes is the protagonist of *The Walking Dead* TV show, portrayed by actor Andrew Lincoln. He first appeared in the inaugural episode, "Days Gone Bye," in 2010.
Prior to the zombie apocalypse, Rick was a sheriff's deputy in a small Georgia town. He is seriously wounded in the line of duty, only to awaken from a coma to a world overrun by the undead.
